About · our vision

The horizon is not a limit. It is a direction.

Beyond The Horizon Labs exists to bring the full rigor of modern engineering and the scientific method to the questions most institutions will not ask out loud.

The vision

Serious tools for serious questions

Every era has a horizon — the line past which the instruments of the day cannot see. Physics has always advanced by building better instruments and then having the discipline to believe what they measure. BTHL was founded on the conviction that the unexplained deserves exactly the same treatment: tools engineered to production standards, data captured with a verifiable chain of custody, and conclusions that never outrun the evidence.

That conviction runs through everything the lab does. The theoretical physics is published with the math shown and every claim labelled for what it is. The software is built the way enterprise systems are built — lock-free real-time pipelines, proper signal processing, SAST/DAST security auditing. The investigations are run with real sensors, unedited footage and SHA-256 fingerprinting at intake. No shortcuts. No toy apps. No fabricated readings.

The long arc of the vision is a lab where independent researchers, engineers and investigators can work at a professional standard on problems that sit at the edge of the known — from the energetics of three-way nuclear fission to an orb crossing a camera frame at 3 a.m. — and where the work is open enough for anyone to check.

Every investigation deserves tools that take the work seriously — and the tools used to explore the unknown should be as rigorous as the phenomena they measure. — The BTHL mission

Evidence first

We do not fabricate, stage or digitally alter evidence. Ever.

The founder

Built by an engineer who has seen it firsthand

Dave St. John brings more than 20 years in software engineering, DevSecOps and cloud architecture — including Sr. DevSecOps Engineer at Verizon (MapQuest) and DevSecOps Lead at MTI and Clubspeed — spanning enterprise infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform), systems programming (C/C++, Go), broadcast engineering and sound production.

He founded Beyond The Horizon Labs to bridge the gap between professional-grade engineering and independent research into the unexplained. The same discipline that runs production streaming infrastructure at scale is applied here to building investigation tools that produce reproducible, timestamped, chain-of-custody evidence.

Dave is also a firsthand experiencer of paranormal phenomena, with years of documented evidence captured in his own home using the tools BTHL builds — which is precisely why those tools refuse to fake a reading. He leads the Mcaster1 broadcasting technology team that powers BTHL Radio and the CasterClub streaming community, and is the author of the Stargate Framework working paper.

Open research targets

Validating the ternary fission energetics against real nuclear codes (Geant4 / MCNP), and identifying the excitation conditions, target nuclei or field environments that could enhance the tripartition branching ratio — the framework's core open problem.

Publishing the evidence

Moving our documented case files — orb manifestations, the UV sigil discovery, the crack-in-the-wall anomaly — through intake into fully published, hash-verified dossiers.
